1. What the Extension Reads
On chatgpt.com and chat.openai.com only, the Extension observes the responses that ChatGPT’s own page receives from its conversation endpoint (/backend-api/conversation). From those responses it extracts:
- The prompt you sent, as echoed back in the response stream.
- The search queries the model issued via its web-search tool.
- Timestamps and the corresponding ChatGPT conversation URL.
The Extension does not read messages, page content, cookies, passwords, or any other site. It does not run on any domain outside chatgpt.com and chat.openai.com.
2. Where the Data Goes
Captured records are written to chrome.storage.local on your own device. They never leave your browser. The Extension makes no network requests of its own to any server — not to GetCito, not to any analytics provider, not to anyone. The only network traffic involved is the page’s own existing traffic to ChatGPT, which the Extension reads but does not modify or forward.
3. Your Controls
- Pause Tracking: Stops new captures without deleting existing data.
- Export: Download your data as JSON or CSV at any time.
- Clear All: Permanently deletes every record from local storage.
- Uninstall: Removes the Extension and clears its storage entirely.
4. Data We Do Not Collect
- No personal identifiers (name, email, IP address).
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or usage metrics.
- No advertising identifiers.
- No data is sold or transferred to third parties.
5. Permissions and Why We Need Them
- storage / unlimitedStorage: To save captured queries locally on your device.
- activeTab: To read the URL of the current ChatGPT tab for the “Scrape This Chat” action.
- Host access to chatgpt.com and chat.openai.com: To observe the conversation traffic that contains the queries.
6. Children’s Privacy
The Extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
7. Changes to This Policy
